UI Visual Designer
As the UI Visual designer for this project, I was responsible for the UI design and prototyping. My tasks included creating high-fidelity UI designs, building UI system, and ensuring the platform was intuitive and efficient for government staff. After designs were finalized, I handed them off to the developers and oversaw the delivery to ensure smooth implementation.

User Story
As a Taoyuan City Government staff member,
I want a platform that organizes all citizen feedback,
so that I can focus on analysis and decision-making to improve efficiency.
The Goal
  1. AI helps summarize citizen reports and automatically generates a weekly issue summary.
    AI technology is used to process and analyze the large volume of citizen reports. This system identifies key points and trends from these reports, making it easier to understand the issues. Each week, the platform automatically generates a summary of the most critical problems, saving time for staff and enabling them to respond more efficiently.
  2. The platform focuses on user-friendliness, accurate data, and real-time updates.
    The system is designed with user experience in mind, ensuring that it is easy for staff to navigate and operate. It prioritizes the ability to quickly and clearly interpret information, which is crucial for making informed decisions. The platform ensures that data is not only accurate but also updated in real-time, allowing for immediate action when necessary.
  3. The interface is simple, supporting filtering by date, category, and content.
    The user interface (UI) is straightforward, making it easy to find relevant data without unnecessary complexity. Users can filter reports in multiple ways, such as by the date of submission, the category of the issue, or the content of the report. This ensures that staff can quickly locate the exact information they need to address specific problems.
  4. The design reflects Taoyuan City Government, incorporating its logo and visual elements.
    The visual design of the platform is carefully tailored to represent the Taoyuan City Government’s identity. The city’s logo and other distinctive visual elements are integrated into the design, giving it a unique local feel that aligns with the government’s branding. This helps reinforce a sense of civic pride and institutional trust for both users and citizens.

Understanding the User needs.
When given a simple wireframe that lacked clarity on user needs, I asked questions to better understand the requirements. This proactive approach helped ensure a more user-centered design, highlighting the importance of clear communication and collaboration to meet both user expectations and project goals.

Challenge
How to efficiently hand off the design to an external developer using only the Figma file, while balancing multiple ongoing projects.
To overcome this, I meticulously organized the Figma file with clear annotations, structured components, and detailed design guidelines to ensure the external developer could seamlessly interpret and implement the design independently.

Reflection
Designing a system from 0 to 1 was a new challenge for me. During this time, I was also responsible for two other projects, so balancing priorities and handing off designs remotely to external engineers was challenging.
I’m thankful to the project manager for their clear guidance and to the engineers for their support.
